I have now experienced what women for thousands of years have, the birth of a new infant coming from within me. I will not say that it was easy to deliver my 8lb 10 oz baby girl. Active Labor lasted for almost 18hrs with intense pushing (or hugging as I like to call it) to guide her down the birth canal lasting just over 2 hrs. Her cute little hand was up by her face making crowning and delivery even more intense; but I am proud to say that with the amazing assistance and encouragement of my dear husband, my midwife and her assistant, I was able to hug this baby girl into the world. She looks just like my husband who is of Spanish descent. Lots of dark hair, olive skin, and quite plump. She is definitely a Juice Plus baby! She even came out with a double chin. It is amazing how much you can love something the instant you hold it and see it. My husband and I are both completely enchanted. She was born on February 27,09 at 2:07 p.m. I did labor in the birthing tub for many hours, but was not progressing as quickly there, so I delivered out of the tub using a birthing stool for part and finally a side lying position on the bed. The instant she was born all of the intense unpleasant sensations ended and I was filled with a rush of euphoria as they handed her to me with exclamation.."that is one big baby!" I will never forget the miracle of this experience. I feel very empowered. If I ever feel like I can't succeed at something again or that something is too hard, I will say to myself "I naturally delivered an 8lb 10oz baby, I can do anything!!"
