Fall Catch Up

So we had a lot of other fun things happen this fall like soccer, and halloween Which I did not blog about. So here are a few pictures of the our family over the last few months having fun and enjoying fall!

Coach and Princess spent hours riding together in this great ibert bike seat. They even rode 25 miles in from our house to Coach's mom's a couple times. Princess loves the bike and is comfortable enough she can even take a nap in the seat.

Halloween was a fun time. Princess was of course a Princess for Halloween, and Starboy was a SPY! He really wants to be a CIA agent when he grows up. We will see what happens.

Starboy's 3rd grade did a Patriotic Program from Veterens Day. My Dad is a veteren from the Korean war, so he attended. Starboy even had a speaking part and sang in a quartet.

This was Starboy's soccer team this year. They had a lot of fun. It was a big team, but they play on the whole fielf now. Starboy's favorite position is Midfielder!

Starboy Turns 9

Starboy had a fun birthday party this last weekend. It was a SPY themed party!

He got to invite 9 friends but only 7 made it so we had 8 boys for the party.

The boys got to make marshmellow guns and decorate them. We then went outside in the field by our house and they played capture the flag with their weapons for "Field Practice"

As you can imagine, the boys had a lot of fun with this.


After that they had to go find and destroy the evil villian MR. BUMBLE who was threatening to blow up their school. Thanks to my niece who came and helped keep things running smoothly!

After that they opened presents had cake and ice cream. He was so excited about the fun spy stuff he got. I got him a spy watch and he got other spy gear and legos which he loves.
After cake and ice cream we played Mafia and Murder in the Dark. Which were fun games when I was a kid. Where you have to figure out who the pretend murder is.

(It sounds more morbid than it is)

After his party we took his cousin and Starboy to a Flash basketball game. They had fun trying to catch memorabillia and tracking down the mascot for an autograph. It was a really successful birthday.

Starboy got a sleeping bag and Burger Boys Night Out coupon (with Burger Shirts) from Coach which he is really excited about. He also got a guitar from his grandparents, which he is also quite excited about!

It was a super spy special day!

Starboy 3rd Grade Super Spy

Starboy just started 3rd Grade. He loves his teacher and is making lots of friends in his new school. These are his 3rd grade pictures. We always go to Target for pictures because the prices are great and you get LOTS of different shots.

He is growing into such a handsome young man.

He is the best big brother. He wanted to have a picture with Princess. She waits all day for him to come home and play. She knows all of his friends names and wants to be included in everything they do.

At this time Starboy wants to be in the CIA when he grows up, so we took some super spy pictures. He has researched all about what he needs to do to become a CIA agent talke about it all the time. It will be fun to see if he actually decides to do it as he gets older. I love being his Mom. He is so creative and fun.

This is Starboyd new pet Beta Fish (Chinese Fighting Fish). His name is AGENT BLUE! He has been taking good care of it. He paid for the fish himself and I helped get the food and things. The aquarium was from

Aunt C. He is so excited to have his own pet.

His newest trick is a backflip on the trampoline. I tried to upload the video, but I am not sure it will work. He practiced and practiced and finally got it down yesterday. He is so proud.

Summer Fun!

We have had a very busy and fun summer. My parents returned from their mission in Hong Kong healthy and happy. Coach has been doing and administrative internship at and Elementary School. We have enjoyed many festivals, parades, family reunions, trips, and camping with cousins both in Eagle Mountain, and through out Utah Valley. The weeks seem to speed by.

Starboy has had so much fun playing with all his new friends in our new neighborhood. And Princess talks more everyday. Today she said "wanna sleep", "come outside" "jump now", and many other two word phrases. It is amazing how many new words she says each day.

Starboy is still as active as ever and has fun using his imagination to fight the bad guys. He now thinks he wants to be a CIA spy when he grows up.


We got to enjoy a Rodeo in Eagle Mountain with Aunt C. Family. Princess and Coach enjoyed the hay rides.

and Starboy got a sucker for the hobble horse race. He also got to go on a pony ride which he enjoyed, but he wishes the that he could ride them FAST!

We enjoyed camping with cousins and grandma H.

Princess even learned to say the word "STICK" while camping. When everyone was roasting marshmellows and hotdogs, she had to be envolved. She learns more words every day. Her food allergies are still bad. She is still on a gluten free, sugar free, diet also keeping out her other triggers (tomato's, onions, peppers, strawberries, cantaloupe, cheese etc). Her system is working much more regular and her rashes stay away as long as we stick to the strict diet.
She still keeps smiling, though she is starting to notice when others have something she doesn't and then she says "want some" but I can usually appease her with something she isn't allergic too. Coach and I are in nursery with her at church, so we are able to monitor all the gluten treats there, and provide her with her own snack.

Starboy was so excited, he got to camp for two nights while Coach, Princess and I went with Aunt M. on a little trip.


Off to Las Vegas to witness Aunt M. Get married. It was such a fun trip and we love our new Brother In-Law. He is a great addition to the family. Cousin T. hung out with Coach and I at Circus Circus. I am so glad we got to be there!

My family reunion was July 4-7 it was so fun to have my niece and her kids stay with us. Spud is a few months younger than princess, but he can hold his own.

The girls loved this playhouse that Aunt C. put out at the park. It was a huge hit!


We had a talent show night. And celebrated summer birthdays. You can see my parents first in line. They just turned 78. It is hard to believe. They are still as busy as ever. It is so great to have them home.

We love our new home and are getting to know more people all the time. It is wonderful to have so much family so close. We are blessed in so many ways.

Moving In!

We are finally moved into our home! Thanks to our family and friends, we were able to get all our stuff moved in over 2 weekends. We borrowed my Sisters trailor and expedition and took 4 loads of stuff. Besides both our cars being filled to the brim. We were also blessed to have family give us furniture that they no longer needed. It all looks beautiful and has really made this house into a home.

This is our front entry room. The couches were from my sister and dear friend. They fit perfectly. I just love how this room turned out. The lamp was from Coach's Moms.

The kitchen

Princess's Big Girl Toddler Bed. She is doing well taking naps in her own bed. She stays there at least 1/2 the night before coming in with me. She is so SWEET!

This is the family room/play room downstairs. The TV isn't set up yet, but it will go on that entertainment table. Starboy has loved having friends come over to play. This room has all the games, puzzles, art supplies, etc..

Starboy has set his room up just exactly how he wants it. He has his desk, bookshelf and toy bins all organized. The next thing is to put up pictures. We also have the trampoline in the backyard that starboy loves to have all the neighbors come and play on.

Life is Good! We are so grateful for Coach's job and for our home and neighborhood. What a huge blessing.

Princess Update (Almost 15 months)

Time is flying by and my baby is now a toddler. She has the cutest smile, and loves to laugh and play. She is a huge fan of outside and cries whenever it is time to come in.

She loves to go on walks and look at the flowers, sometimes she picks them, (oops) which I try to keep only to our own yard, but it's so cute, and luckily the neighbors think so too.


This is at the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Princess got so excited about all the different flowers. It ended up being to stormy to enjoy the whole thing, but this exhibit was just out front.

Right after princess's bath, her hair is SUPER curly. It is very cute, and I wish the curls stayed better. She doesn't like to keep bows, or things in her hair so it is usually flying wild. She does love to see herself in the mirror when a headband or bow is on, but then she pulls it out almost immediately. I decided it wasn't work the effort.

She is learning to sign. She knows the signs for milk, please, thank you, bird, more, mom, dad, potty and bear. We are working on a few others, but those are the ones she uses everyday. She is also great at pointing and saying "this this"

Her favorite words to say are are Uh-oh, ouch, Mom, Da Da, this, sit, and go.

She is still having food allergy issues, which is one of the main reasons I have not had time to write on this blog. I have to make most her food from scratch since she can't handle preservatives. We are on a special Specific Carbohydrate Rotation Diet. She can only have the same food item every 5 days and she can not have any grains, or any of her other allergens (which is quite a list including Cheese, Apples, chicken, broccoli, tomato's, onions, red berries... etc) When she eats any of her allergen foods, she breaks out in rashes on her face, arms and legs. And when she eats grains her bowels do not work at all. It is hard, But I am learning so much. Friday I created a new bread recipe using cashew flour and pecans. It was YUMMY. I am very lucky that she is not also allergic to nuts or eggs. I am also making my own homemade 24 hr SCD Yogurt, which has really helped to heal her gut and stop the candida overgrowth.. When yogurt is made this way, all of the lactose is broken down by the good bacteria, and you end up with over 70 billion good bacteria per cup. Anyway I am learning a ton, but it is very time consuming and overwhelming. BUT SHE IS TOTALLY WORTH IT!

My Cute Kids! Being a Mom is the most wonderful, most difficult job anyone can have. I am so grateful that God has given me these 2 Miracle children to worry about, play with, and teach. They each bless my life in different ways.

Starboy made this picture holder at scouts for my Mother's Day Gift. He also gave me a couple beautiful cards that he made at school and church. He loves art.


I bought myself these two rose bushes to plant in my front yard. They are called Orchard's Pride roses and are a hybrid tea rose that was started in 2006. I thought they were beautiful. I just hope the place I want to plant them will get enough sun so they will grow.

Coach gave me this gorgeous knife set for Mother's Day. We have used my parents Cutco Knives for years, but now that we are moving to our new home I had told him I needed a set of my own. He had it all wrapped and had Princess help give it to me. I was very very happy.

We spent the weekend at the new house painting, and getting ready for the carpet in the basement. Things are coming together.




The front and back lawn is still quite dead, but hopefully with some more time it will start to revive. I have dug out all the old weeds from the flower beds and planted a few perennials and now my rose bushes will be plated. In time hopefully it will look beautiful.

I taught sharing time for Mother's Day. We had the children make pictograph cards. Drawing in pictures for some of the words to the song "I Often Go Walking" I got to share me example card with my Mom over Skype and sing to her, which is always a treat. I can't wait for them to be home from Hong Kong. The last year has gone by so fast.

I hope all of you had as wonderful of a Mother's Day as I did.

People have told me they are tired of seeing my April Fools Day salad and to PLEASE update my blog. It has been such a busy couple of months. The weeks just fly by. Life is really great for the most part, and I had a wonderful Mother's Day, so I thought I would share it with all of you.

April Fools

The entire week before April 1st Starboy was coming home with different April Fools jokes either he had done at school, or wanted to do. He also tried to get me with a couple. So I decided to join in the fun and have a little april fools joke of my own on Thursday morning.

I got up extra early and made this beautiful Salad with big tomatoes and celery (Starboy's LEAST favorite veggies)

I also made this Yummy french toast with yogurt, strawberries, kiwi, and real maple syrup

When Starboy came up for breakfast the salad was sitting at his spot. I said "We're having Salad for breakfast, come and eat...you should have seen his face drop! Then I yelled APRIL FOOLS! and pulled out the French Toast. He laughed.. I got him good!

He said he told his whole class about it.
It was a fun day! I got to eat the Salad with my lunch and he really enjoyed his French Toast!

Birthday, Basketball and Bike Riding

We have definitely had a month of March Maddness! I have been working over at the house 2-3 times a week which equals close to 2 hrs in the car each of those days, always between the hours that Starboy is at school (so it will still be a suprise when we tell him next weekend). With the help of my husband, wonderful sister's and my nieces I have been able to paint the Kitchen, Starboys Room, The downstairs play/t.v. room, and baseboards up stairs. I have also torn out all the old dead plants and bushes, and planted new tulips, daffodils and other bulbs that may or may not bloom this year.

Princess has been quite patient and has to sit in her stroller while I work on projects. Some days she does better than others. I have done quite a bit of painting with her on my back in the beco carrier. I really need some pictures of that. She will fall asleep while I am painting and kind of hang there with her head lopping from side to side.

Because of trying to get all of this done before Easter when we take Starboy to the house, I have not posted for a long time. So, it is catchup time.

Princess's Birthday Party February 27

She recieved the Precious Moment Birthday Train set from Her daddy

Lots of fun toys from cousins, and Aunts & Uncles. Her pretty outfit was from Grandma and Grandpa S. in Hong Kong.
She wouldn't put down her "Big Bad Wolf" Build a Bear that her and Coach went and built.
From Mom Princess got a bike helmet and a new bike seat so that they can ride together. You'll see pictures of that later in this blog. It was a fun Party. She especially enjoyed her birthday cupcake.

Her yummy chocolate cupcakes had zuchinni, carrots, and spinich hidden inside and were sweetend with xylitol.

She loved them, and so did everyone else!




STARBOY -BASKETBALL SEASON

Starboy is in basketball season and HE LOVES IT!! He practices outside everyday and tells me "he is working on his moves" It 's really funny to watch 1st and 2nd graders play, because they are all ball hogs, and don't quite understand the concept of team work or guarding. They mostly just want to get the ball and try to shoot. Alot of the time airballs occur, but every once in awhile you will see a basket. Starboys team is finally catching on to the passing thing now that the season is about over. It has been fun watching him and the others improve each week.

They play on 8 ft hoops. There is no stealing allowed (which is actually one of the things starboy is good at) They are really nice about things like double dribbles, and traveling. They just stop the game and explain the rule and then have the ball thrown in again. They usually have 2 games going on at a time. The boys all think they are keeping score and both teams always think they are winning (No score actually kept). The teams practice for 20 minutes at the beginning, and then there is a 40 minute game.



PRINCESS's NEW TRANSPORTATION






Princess LOVES her new bikeseat that she got for her birthday. She has a helmet and everything. We have only gone on little short 5-10 minute rides so far, but as it gets warmer, we will try longer. She never wants to get out when we get home. I think it will be a lot of fun this summer especially. The ibert is rated as one of the safest infant bike seats available.
