7 Months Old

7 Month Birthday!



HOORAY!! Princess's favorite sounds are GA GA GA and DA DA DA.

She always gives us a gaping smile...so full of wonder and excitement!


Princess is very wiggly these days and loves to bend and twist out of our arms and onto the ground where she can roll and scoot (mostly backwards).

Time is going so quickly. We sure are having fun watching her grow!

Starboy Update

Starboy is improving each day. He can now straighten and bend his legs without pain, he no longer has headaches. He has his appetite back and today jumped about 2 inches off the ground without holding on to something. He can walk backwards completely normal and forwards he still walks funny because of hip pain, but overall we are definitely getting better. It has been a very stressful couple weeks, but I think we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He has responded well to the antibiotic. He will keep taking it for another 14 days and then we will see how close we are to recovery. Each day he is able to walk a little faster, and bend a little more. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and fasting.

30 Weeks

The weeks seem to fly by. Princess had fun playing with a helium balloon this week. Starboy's primary teacher from last year heard he was sick and brought him some fun smiley face balloons. Princess thought they were the greatest/

Starboy wanted to take a picture of us playing together. We had a fun afternoon.

Can you believe how big she is getting? Starboy of course has lost a lot of weight during the last few weeks, but Princess looks like a sumo baby in this picture. She weighs over 20 pounds now. Her first tooth cut through today. She will be seven months in just 2 days.

She is a very content baby that makes our whole family smile. We feel so blessed to have her in our home.

29 weeks

29 weeks of Joy! That is what princess is to our entire family! Her smiles make each of us have a better day no matter what is going on.

She still loves to spend time with her Daddy. Coach doesn't get home till after 8 pm most evenings so Princess only gets to see him a little bit during the week and more on the weekends, but she always has smiles for him.

Princess has been especially helpful to her brother this week keeping him in good spirits. He loves to lay on the ground or couch and talk and play with her. Since walking and lifting are difficult, they both just roll around on the floor. Starboy sings, and laughs and Princess responds with squeals of delight.

We are trying all kinds of new foods. avocado, squash, green peppers, sweet potatoes and veggie rice finger crackers. She loves to hold things in her hands like these peppers, or spoons.

YEAH FOR VEGGIES!!

This is a wagon we inherited from Aunt D. We actually got it because Star boys teacher had requested a wheelchair or wagon to pull him in to his specialty classes. Amazingly PAWS the parent teacher organization at his school heard about our predicament and found a child size wheelchair that he can as use at school as long as is needed (hopefully not too long)

Princess and Starboy loved having me pull them in it, it wasn't even too heavy.

A Heavy Heart

It is so hard for me to watch my son become less and less mobile. Even with treatment his joints seem to be getting stiffer and stiffer. It is harder for him to walk and stairs are almost impossible for him in the morning. Afternoons are a little better but he still struggles with balance and ability to move. Amazingly through it all he often has a smile on his face. His teachers at school say he has been angelic. No one can believe the transformation that has occurred over the last 2 1/2 weeks (18 days).

On August 29th Starboy was playing Goalie at his soccer game diving for the ball, running, and drop kicking. Now he has to have someone hold his hand to help him up the stairs and assist him even with daily grooming activities. It makes me cry just thinking about it. We are running more tests with the doctors and he is taking antibiotics as well as doing homeopathic remedies. We are trying to hit this from all angles. Hopefully soon we will see some kind of improvement.

Starboy loved playing Goalie! He is very sad that he had to quit the rest of the season. We are trying our best to stay positive. Please keep us in your prayers!

28 Weeks

I am a little late this week with our Princess update, it has been a little crazy at our house. But here it is. She got her first big owee this week. She threw herself out of my arms and hit the edge of the bed giving herself a nasty scrape next to her eye, but we both survived. This is Kimchi her new toy all the way from Hong Kong. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa S.

It is almost as big as her and she loves it, especially the long tags.

At the beginning of the week I threw a wedding shower for my niece. This was fun since Princess' cousin K. got to come visit. Coach flew her around like a bumble bee and they both giggled and laughed. Enjoy the below video.

This week we started playing with a sippy cup. She loves to try and drink out of it. She still needs help to get it tipped correctly, but it is a great teething toy. I put just enough water in it so that when she does tip it just right she gets a squirt, but doesn't drowned herself.


She still loves to chew on everything, even Starboy's toys. He is a very good sport about it, and asked me to take this picture because he thought it was so funny.

Our biggest accomplishment of the week was learning to clap. I even got it on video amazingly. She won't always show off for the camera, but I was happy to get this fun milestone.

She is keeping us all smiling even Starboy, which is what we need during this hard time. Starboy is getting some strength back. He is always very stiff in the mornings, but afternoons are better. By the time night rolls around he is exhausted. We are taking it one day at a time. He is still a great big brother, even if he can't fly her around right now, He still can make her laugh!

Following the Spirit

This has been quite a difficult week for me. My kids were sick last week. Princess showed all the signs of teething, and a possible ear infection, then Starboy came down with a fever, chills, unable to sleep. He stayed home from school on Thursday, and Friday. The fever went away by then, but his joints seemed to be getting stiffer and stiffer. He kept crying about not being able to run, or even walk up the stairs without the rail. He complained of his hands and feet tingling so he couldn't sleep, and by Sunday, he couldn't even put his own socks on.

I thought this is they craziest flu bug I have ever seen. Monday when I watched him walk he looked like an 80 yr old man with arthritis. He couldn't get in the car, or bend down to pick things up. We were in the backyard and he was trying to get on the trampoline and of course couldn't when a voice in my head said "He has Lyme's disease" I looked at him and thought, that's a weird idea, but then I decided to probe a bit.

We have a bunch of deer that live in our neighborhood. They are often in our backyard and next behind our house in what we call the "wilderness" I often tell Starboy to not play back there because I am fearful of ticks. So i asked him if he had been down there recently. He informed me that him and the neighbor boy had gone down there to retrieve a ball about 3 weeks earlier. He also showed me a small bumpy rash he had on his neck.

At this point I came in and googled "Lyme's Disease" He had every symptom listed. I immediately tried to get a hold of someone from the Dr. office I used to work for. It was Labor day, so I was worried about not finding someone, Luckily my dear friend was home and was able to meet us at the Clinic to test and see if my assumption was correct.

Starboy tested positive for Lyme's disease. We are now treating it and we will hopefully be able to completely reverse the effects. Treatment will last for a couple months. It has been so hard to watch my rambunctious, vivacious son become so crippled by this. He is being a very good sport about everything. Now that we know what it is and have an action plan he is much less emotional.

Before we knew he would just cry and say "Am I ever going to be able to run again?" "Why am I so weak" It has been 3 days. He is sleeping better and able to actually sleep in his bed. (Sunday night he had moved to the floor because his back hurt too bad to sleep in his bed. ) He is still very slow going up stairs and getting in and out of the car, but he did put his own socks on for school today.

Please keep us in your prayers. I am so grateful that I was prompted to know what was going on with him. I would have never come up with that diagnosis without God's help.

27 Weeks

This week Princess has had her first cold. Runny nose, fever and cough. Notice the puffy eyes....Even with all that she is still a very happy baby.

Her favorite toy seems to be this water bottle. She can roll it, shake it, and chew on it, whats not to love.

She loves being in the high chair attached to the counter, especially when I am cooking.

Her "My Dad Rocks" onsieis a new favorite.

Starboy made her this playhouse that she had fun climbing in.

Another fun weeks of rolling, eating sweet potatoes, and being cute. 27 weeks..wow!
