Starboy is so extremely busy these days. He has become a cub scout, and goes to scouts every Tuesday after school. He loves it.. he has earned two belt loops, and will earn his bobcat badge next month at the Blue and Gold Banquet.
Thursdays he now has Ice Skating Lessons from 5-6 p.m. He is a natural on the ice. He is learning how to stop on the ice, skate backward and spin. The girls in his class love to chase him during the free skate, and yesterday he was the Engine and they all hung onto him like a train. He was grinning from ear to ear.
He is doing fantastic in school and we are currently reading a HUGE book (530 pgs) together called "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" by Brian Selznick. It is a novel, picture book, all in one. It won The Caldecott Medal in 2007. Starboys class read it and then he brought it home from the Library. He reads it to me 20 minutes each day. It is a special time we have together.
Starboy LOVES basketball. Almost everyday he goes out and shoots hoops with the basketball he got for his birthday. Last Saturday was a very special day.. He and Coach were invited to a JAZZ basketball game by his cousin T. who lives in Logan. T. had won 4 tickets at school. He invited his 2 Uncles and Starboy. They had a great night. The Jazz won 112-96 against the Milwaukee, Bucks. They even went to Iggy's Sports Grill afterward and got huge hamburgers and fries. Starboy couldn't stop telling everyone that he had gone to a Professional Basketball Game. T. got a new Jersey at the game and won a Jazz Basketball too. He gave Starboy his old Jersey and Starboy got some sweat wrist bands with #13 on them as a souvenir. It was a memorable night.
Starboy loves playing with his baby sister and is a huge help to me by watching the baby while Mom cleans, cooks, or just takes a break. He is growing like a weed and maturing into a very dependable, kind, young man. I am such a lucky Mom!
