Baptism Day

Today December 5, 2009 Starboy was Baptized and Confirmed a member of the Church of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He got up early and got into his beautiful white suit that his 4 of his other cousins have used for their baptisms.
He looked so handsome and he was so excited for the big day ahead. He had received his very own set of scriptures from his Grandma and Grandpa S. who are on a mission in Hong Kong. They knew they would not be here for his baptism and had purchased the scriptures before they left. They are blue and he has a Triple Combination (Book of Mormon, D&C, Pearl of Great Price) and The Holy Bible.

Cousin P. had slept over and they boys got their picture together. P. will get baptized next month and also wear this special white suit.

Mom was sure proud of him and happy to be apart of his big day.

We had to be at the Church by 8:30 a.m. to be ready to begin at 9 a.m. Two other children in the stake were also being baptized today. We were all very happy.

Coach and Starboy were all smiles as they prepared to go in the font. The Spirit was very strong today for our family. It was a true blessing.
The spirit of happiness.

After the baptism we went into the relief society room with all of our guests. Grandma Janet spoke on the Holy Ghost and Nutrition Momma sang "Baptism"

Bishop Benfell spoke about renewing our baptismal covenants through the sacrament. It was really a beautiful program. Then Coach gave Starboy the gift of the Holy Ghost and Confirmed him. The blessing after the confirmation was very special. He talked about how much family Starboy had and how they care about him. He talked about Starboys kind heart and how he will be blessed with the ability to help others and be guided by the holy ghost to make good choices. The spirit was very strong as he spoke.

We had so many people there to support our family. This was Coachs and my Families.

Then we had Starboys biological family that came to support.
And besides that there were over a dozen friends, primary teachers, etc..

This was Starboys Primary teacher this year. Sister Wise. she is an amazing women who teaches the gospel through beautiful eloquent prose. For each of her students 8th birthdays she made them a castle cake.

Starboy had talked about it all year.

I made a coconut cake in the shape of an 8. We used both cakes to feed all 70 of our guests that came to our home after the baptism.

Everyone enjoyed singing and and celebrating. It was a great success.
